Foundation 1976 x Ron Herman Japan Charity Event
We are honored to be a part of Foundation 1976’s first project through Ron Herman Japan. Using existing vintage white shirts from the 1940s to 1960s, designers were invited to customize and imprint their brand on to these shirts. The finished shirts are to be auctioned off and proceeds will be donated to NPO Florence to help open a nursery school for children who require special medical care.
We looked into our archive and decided to embellish this shirt with hand sourced vintage trims from France, India, and the Netherlands. The embroidery on the shirt was done by hand and inspired by children’s drawings and vintage doll clothing.
As a knitwear brand, we also wanted to add a cardigan that would be styled with the shirt - also adorned with vintage buttons and pieces that we have been collecting. The cardigan design is based on one of our signature pieces, the Chelsea Sweater.
We hope that the wearer will be reminded of this wonderful foundation and that together, our small contribution can help these children and their families.
